Be prepared!

The bright lights flash, and the concert starts with the title track of the new album! The fun and excitement build with the second and third song, but then you notice some discomfort in your ears...

The sound engineers set up and adjust the speakers and other audio equipment to deliver optimal sound to all the seats so everyone can enjoy the concert.

Still, there will always be differences depending on where you are, and everyone experiences sound a little differently. As a result, you may have experienced discomfort in your ears at a concert before.

If you're standing you can move a little, but with assigned seating you can't just move to another seat, and you may find yourself unable to enjoy the show while enduring sound that's too loud.

In recent years, there are earplugs available for concerts with special filters that reduce the volume without affecting the sound of the performance. If you keep a pair in your pocket just in case, you can protect your ears and enjoy the concert in comfort if you ever need them.

Some concert venues have headphone-style earmuffs available for young children, so check with the promoter in advance.
